Thanksgiving Day

2. In the United States, thanks giving day is started on fourth Thursday of November every year. On that day, family will get together to celebrate this holiday with traditional turkey dinner. It normally begins at mid-afternoon and celebrates for great harvest of each year.
3. The history of thanks giving day may backing about 300 years ago, it started in 1621 before United states of America was formed. On September 6, 1620, the mayflower ship set sail from Devon, England to America. This ship was taking roughly 100 English pilgrims to the new continental, America.
4. The pilgrims sailed 66 days and finally arrived in America in November of the same year. They settle in a cornfield first and work on the land with much difficulty. About half of them died due to fatal disease. However, with help of an Indian named Squanto and his tribe, these pilgrims have learnt how to plant corn, bean, pumpkin and other crops, etc.
5. In the late September 1621, the pilgrim came to their great harvest. To celebrate the first harvest, they thank for god and invited all the native Indian to celebrate together in a feast. They ate turkey, duck, birds as well as some seafood. Therefore, the word “thanksgiving” came to people’s life.
6. The Thanksgiving Day was a time of happiness, friendship and appreciation with somebody who has helped you ever before. It became a holiday celebrating harvest for next 150 years until 1777.
7. On October, 3, 1777, president George Washington declared that thanksgiving day became national holiday and people can observe a day of public thanksgiving.
8. As for dinner on thanksgiving day, the turkey is required for each family. Beside it, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, corn are some dishes cooked in every family.
9. In addition, there are thanksgivings parades will be shown for people. It is an official day started with President Lincoln. Some soldiers in dress to display the country’s military strength and power so that encouraging people to love their country and providing a wholesome entertainment for them as well.

What makes us truly happy ?

1. In this passage , I would like to discuss the common topic in our life. What is the real happiness to you ? perhaps every body has your own answer about it . Let me show some information for you on the real happiness.

3. First of all , work can be the one of important factors that affect our emotion and mind . Being unemployment bring a negative influence on your state of mind . especially , men , to large extend , may become depressed and anxious as result of unemployment . However, the unemployment had little impact on women’ s happiness due to the fact that women have more choice than men to stay in home or be a housewife in family.

4. Beside, spending time with family , friends is also a factor involve in happiness. Which means people who have a lot of friends or are social engaged are more likely to be happy than the people who do not. . There are three most significant person who can make you feel happy : children (77%) , friendship (76%) , spouses or partner (73%) , etc.

5. Additionally, your goodness helping for others is another source of happiness. Which means that making contribution to others would be a kind of happiness to you . In America , there are a poll given by magazine found that helping others was major source of happiness for 75% of American . so helping for others is not a troublesome thing for you but the happiness in your daily life.

6. Most importantly , health play an important role in the source of happiness. Because health is strongly tied with happiness . It is hard to be happy if you got pain or lived with illness . Thus, as long as you are healthy , you are more likely to gain happiness in life than you got sick.

7. Moreover, a happily marriage can influence your feeling of happiness . it is a key to a happy life. A report suggest that 43% of married women and men reported being “ very happy” whereas 24% of them said “ same ” . However, that happiness is not because of kids . In fact, those couple without kids are as same to be happy as those who already have children.

8. last but not least, urban design may affect our feeling of happiness . the reason is that urban design can facilitate social interaction . For instance , forty years ago , people lived in a small yard or a house complex . they have many opportunities to communicate with each other and knew about relationship of neighborhood. Nevertheless, people nowadays do not know neighbors anymore and lack of communication to each other. Hence, the happiness in life will be definitely decreased if there have not a good unban design for communication.

9. These several important factors above would be involved in level of happiness you might feel with. and each of them can be a component of your happy life.

Nowadays , Technology is playing an important role in our living , working and sutding . but there are always some dispute or arguement on development of modern technology , How should us take regard with it? As I was natural science student before, I try to express some of my points and opinion about technology.

1. First of all , Technology has brought much of convienence to our daily life. one of distinctive example is transportation. people living in several thousand years ago uesd to walk or run to a place. but now , we have invented advanced vehicles such as car , bus ,train and plane etc . we are able to travel around the world within few days .
   
2. Secondly, with the inventation of light , we are no longer to lighting up by use of coal or rotating a wood bar and enjoy a bright world without any fear of darkness . therefore, There appears some city called as everbright , which means the lights in that city always keep open over day and night. those cities such as Hongkong , Tokyo are know for it's endless lighting.
   
3. Furthermore, The advanced communication are also contributed to modern technology . space between each other is becoming more and more close and tourchable. some chatting programme like QQ, MSN and wedsites ----facebook , for example, are widly used to communicate with friends , classsmates and loves ones. In addition to chatting , some people even are working in home instead of company or wokplace etc . They just need to send E-mail to their boss everday.
   
4. In regard of aerospace, we have achieved dreams of landing on moon , building our capulse, sending space rocket to explore new stars. As for my country , china, we have already sent a satelite ----Chang'E1 ,to moon to begin it's first trip on moon. I believe that we will have more knowledges and understanding about aerospace in the future, dependening on developed technology of space exploration.
   
5. However, I think that the drawback and diaadvantages of technology is obviouse and apparent too. one of the big problem is misuse of medicine. The research of chemical and biological weapon would posed a great threaten to our human being. As increasing number of virus created for purpose of war , some of dangerous virus like SARS , RNA will definatly be putted in animal as research and it will potentially make a much stronger virus than it ever before. thus we, the human being , will face with a tough situation about fighting against variety of viruses .
   
6. On the other hand . Envoromental pollution is still serious now. many white trash ---- plastic bag , water bottles and plastic cards have been thrown on the ground by people. It can not be decomposed by land and take negative effect on quality of soil . so it will be harmful to growth of corps.
   
7. Additonally , Global warmth is another question to our live . cause behind global warmth are blame to some exhauseted gases , carbon dioxide CO2 sulfur dioxide SO2 etc . they will violate to ozonosphere so lead to warmth in world . if we consider all of ice moutain be melted into water, it will be a disaster to our world.
8. lastly , we are facing a lot of crimes on internet as IT is generating in our life. A new noun Hacker, become a great rival to trade online. they steal information from the trade so as to get money directly from their account.
9. Sometimes, technology bring curses to our live . Nevertheless, It seams that we cannot live without technology as like Fish cannot live without water . Technology is quiet important for our human being in many ways.
10. On the whole , I think question for us with regard to technology is not a matter whether it is beneficial or harmful to our life but a question how to maximize it's positive side and minimize it's negative effects.
